A Happy start to the morning! I would like to offer my congratulations to Mrs. Pigeon who lives in my bicycle shed. I noticed the other day that there was a nest like structure on the floor and sure enough this morning there was a shiny white egg in it!

I will be sure to keep you updated on the progress of the happy family.
Today was another day in Peregrine land. It was beautiful and sunny and I was forced to strip down to the least amount of clothes I have worn in 6 months. The sunny weather has been good for the flowers and butterflies and today I got some beautiful pictures walking along the boardwalk. I have tried my best to identify but I am hoping that my precious mammie might leave some comments...

Today was pretty uneventful at the site. The Peregrines sat on the eggs and I read interesting facts about plants. Nothing as wonderful as yesterday's fact though. I stayed till 8 o clock and then headed down the hill. No badgers tonight: instead I went along the Red Path ready to lay out....
THE MOTH TRAP
Tomorrow is mothing day and very excited I am about it. Stay tuned for tomorrow's exciting Mothing facts, figures and pictures.
Hey chick.Love the blog, its like Springwatch but without the annoying bits. have looked at your plants. MP1-a crucifer, poss Bittercress; MP2-Globeflower i think; MP3-Spring Beauty. Hope thats right I'm a bit rusty. We have nesting birds too. Crows in the chimney and starlings under the eaves. Maybe sparrows too.Love mum xxx
ReplyDeleteWhere does one aquire deer piss from? Also out of interest, are aspens natural to Scotland? I found many caterpillars in the garden which I suspect are cabbage whites as they are big and green. Also have lots of exciting growth on our apple tree, strawberries, goosberries and raspberry plant. No sign yet as to the rhubarb however I suspect it will burst forth at some point and take over the garden. There is a blue tit that nests in the rotting windows at my work which you can see tearing apart the windows for nesting material. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteThankyou mammie! I will head out next week with a plant book and examine the flowers in closer detail. Crows in the chimney is very cool, and starlings even better. Bet they will be a bit noisy when the chicks hatch.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know the best source of Reindeer and their products would be Aviemore. But then how do you know if they've eaten the fungus? I think if you wanted to pursue this for practical application you would have to do more research. Siberia is good I hear. I will probably see you in May, I need to return to Edinburgh to see the charity bookfair.
